About Hosted Lines
A private branch exchange (PBX) is a telephone exchange device that serves a particular business or office, as opposed to one that a common carrier or telephone company operates for many businesses or for the general public.
A hosted IP-PBX system delivers PBX functionality as a service, available over the internet and installed at the service provider’s data centre. This means the customer doesn’t need to buy or install PBX equipment and the service provider can use the same switching equipment to service multiple PBX hosting accounts. So instead of buying their own expensive PBX equipment, users contract for PBX services from a hosted PBX service provider. It is also possible to get hosted PBX services with far more customizable features than were available previously.
